How to get free Warp swag
Hong Yi Chen
Warp isn’t just a modern terminal—it’s also a thriving community of developers who value tools that help them work smarter and faster. With the launch of our refreshed World of Warp branding, we’re excited to introduce a revamped referrals program, complete with updated swag rewards designed exclusively for our community.
These new rewards embody Warp’s bold new design direction and represent the next step in our evolution. More importantly, we’re thrilled to put them into the hands of our developer community. From custom keycaps and embroidered apparel to Hydroflasks and North Face backpacks, there’s something for everyone. Now is the perfect time to share Warp with your friends and start earning exclusive gear.
Here are 8 strategies to help you earn Warp swag and get involved with the community.
1. Invite friends and teammates
The fastest and easiest way to earn Warp swag is by inviting others to try Warp. Whether it's a friend who loves clean workflows or a teammate looking for a collaborative, AI-powered terminal, you can share your referral link to get them started.
Here’s how to invite someone:
- 1. Send them an invite link: Your friend will be directed to the Warp download page to install and get started with Warp.
- 2. Enter their email address: Warp will send them a custom email invite from you.
How Referral Rewards work:
Each time you hit a new referral tier, we'll send you a link to claim your swag. Optionally, if you prefer, you can opt for a gift card (USD) instead of the swag reward.
Number of Referrals | Swag reward | Gift card equivalent |
---|---|---|
1 | Exclusive theme | $0 |
5 | Stickers and keycaps | $5 |
10 | Embroidered t-shirt | $10 |
20 | Moleskin notebook | $20 |
35 | Baseball hat | $35 |
50 | Embroidered hoodie | $50 |
75 | Hydroflask | $75 |
100 | North Face Backpack | $100 |
Find your unique referral link in Settings > Referrals in the Warp app. Start sharing today to earn exclusive rewards.
2. Share Warp in your work Slack or Teams channels
Collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams are perfect for sharing helpful resources with your team. Posting about Warp in a #resources, #dev-tools, or #engineering-discussion channel can spark interest among your colleagues and quickly add to your referral count.
Highlight how Warp's features—like block-based commands, AI-powered enhancements, and session sharing—can make coding and collaboration more efficient and enjoyable for your team.
Here’s how to share Warp:
Share a quick post about why you’re using Warp and the specific features you find valuable. Include your referral link so teammates can easily download and try Warp themselves. Offer to answer questions or give a short demo if your team wants to learn more.
By sharing Warp with your team, you'll introduce them to a powerful tool and earn rewards while doing so.
3. Find us at events and hackathons
Warp regularly participates in hackathons, conferences, and developer meetups. If you spot us at an event, stop by to say hello! It’s a great opportunity to meet the team, share your feedback, and learn more about Warp. Plus, we love connecting with our developers, and you’ll definitely walk away with some cool swag.
Keep tabs on our social channels to see where we’ll be next. Recently, we’ve been at events like Hack the North, All Things Open, SCaLE, and HackMIT, with even more planned for 2025. We’d love to see you at the next one.
4. Collaborate with Warp
If you’re organizing a coding workshop, hosting a tech meetup, or starting a developer podcast, we’d love to hear from you. Collaborations help us reach new audiences, and we’re happy to support contributors who spread the word about Warp. Examples of Warp collaborations include the Syntax.fm podcast, Typecraft’s video “How to Make Your Linux or Mac Terminal Beautiful,” and Professor Lee Jensen’s “Slaying the Shell” command-line workshop with BYU WiCS.

5. Join our Campus Lead program
If you’re a college or university student passionate about developer tools, the Warp Campus Lead Program is a great opportunity to share Warp while gaining valuable experience.
We’re looking for engaged, technically inclined students to help grow Warp’s presence in universities. As a Campus Lead, you’ll work directly with the Warp team to drive adoption, gather feedback, and contribute to shaping the future of our product. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with the team through AMAs and webinars, with potential for internships or full-time roles. Resources and a budget will help you host events, and you’ll contribute to social campaigns, blog posts, or TikTok takeovers while connecting with a community of fellow ambassadors.

6. Be active in the Warp Community
Join the conversation about Warp on our Discord and Reddit communities. It’s a great way to connect with other developers, share tips, and help shape the future of the product. Active community members often receive surprise swag as a thank-you for their contributions.
What to share:
- Custom themes: share a unique theme you’ve created for Warp to inspire others!
- Collaboration tips: explain how you’re using Warp Drive to collaborate directly with your team.
- CLI tools and plugins: highlight the tools and plugins you’ve integrated with Warp to customize your workflow.
These contributions spark valuable discussions, help inspire our product direction and refine our features, and may even get featured on our official channels.
7. Share your experience using Warp
Sharing your Warp experience on social media or developer forums is a great way to connect with the community and earn exclusive swag. Whether it’s a unique workflow you’ve accomplished using Agent Mode, another feature you love, or a simple shoutout, posting about Warp helps others see its value—and we want to reward your enthusiasm.
A couple of ideas on how you can share:
- Post on platforms like X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Reddit, or other developer forums.
- Create tutorials, blog posts, or even Tiktoks that showcase how you use Warp (we’d love to sponsor you if there’s a right fit!).
- Tag us in your posts or reach out to let us know—we’re always happy to engage, share your content, and even reward the most creative and helpful contributions with not just swag, but more.
Pro tip: Personalized posts work best. Share your genuine experience with Warp, let us know how we can improve, highlight how it compares to previous terminals you’ve used, and explain why you recommend it.
Whether it’s a quick post or a detailed guide, your contribution helps grow the Warp community and helps us understand how to build an even better terminal.
8. Take the direct approach
Sometimes, asking directly is the most effective method. Share Warp with friends one-on-one by sending a quick text or email. Highlight how Warp has made your developer experience smoother, and include your referral link to make it easy for them to sign up.
